What is Graphite Composite Sheet?
Graphite composite sheet, also known as reinforced graphite board or high-strength graphite board, is a sealing material made by compressed pure graphite paper with a punched metal tooth plate or metal mesh plate or metal flat plate. The commonly used reinforcing materials for the inner layer of graphite composite board include ss304, ss316L, or tinplate, with a thickness of 0.05~0.2mm. Generally, there are several forms of composite reinforcement such as punched plate reinforcement, mesh plate reinforcement, and flat plate reinforcement. It has the characteristics of thermal stability, high strength, and no cold flow property. It can be made into various circular and complex geometrical gaskets, such as water level gauge gaskets, cylinder gaskets, exhaust pipe gaskets, ribbed heat exchanger gaskets, etc., and is widely used.
Performance characteristics
It has good corrosion resistance, high/low temperature resistance, radiation resistance, good compressibility and resilience, and high strength. The required pre-tightening force is smaller than that of metal gasket and metal wound gasket, and the requirements for the flange surface are not high, making it a relatively economical and practical sealing material.
Used medium
Acid, alkali, steam, various solvents, and oils.
Uses of Graphite Composite Sheet
Refractory materials: In the smelting industry, graphite is used to make graphite crucibles, protect steel ingots, and create magnesia-carbon bricks for the inner lining of smelting furnaces.
Conductive materials: In the electrical industry, graphite is widely used to make electrodes, brushes, rods, carbon tubes, and coatings for TV picture tubes.
Materials and lubricants: In many mechanical equipment, graphite is used as a material and lubricant. It can slide at speeds of 100m/s within a temperature range of -200 to 2000℃, using little or no lubricant.
Sealing materials: Flexible graphite is used to make piston ring gaskets, sealing rings for centrifugal pumps, turbines, and equipment transporting corrosive media.
Corrosion-resistant materials: Graphite is used to make vessels, pipelines, and equipment that can withstand various corrosive gases and liquids. It is widely used in the petroleum, chemical, and hydrometallurgical industries.
Insulation, high-temperature materials: Graphite can be used as a neutron moderator in nuclear reactors, nozzles of rockets, nose cones of missiles, aerospace equipment parts, insulation materials, and other materials.
